Active Valentine’s Day Ideas
Active Valentine’s Day Ideas
Chocolate, flowers, and dinner plans make for a pretty great Valentine’s Day but to spice it up this year, opt for something more active. Whether you’re in a long-term relationship or you just started seeing someone new, an active Valentine’s date will go much farther than traditional date plans. Besides the fact that staying active will keep your mind and body in great condition, the experience of doing something together will create lasting memories.
We’ve compiled a list of active Valentine’s Day date inspiration:
Take a salsa class. Fun music + Cool dance moves = A fun date night that gets you moving.
Bundle up and go for a bike ride. Just watch out for black ice!
Swim together. Plenty of fitness centers have indoor pools that are perfect for swimming laps together!
Try a rock climbing gym. Whether you’re both experienced climbers or trying it out for the first time, many climbing gyms have gear to rent and intro classes to help get you started.
Go for a run. Whether you sign up for a race or run around the block, pick up the pace and break a sweat.
Take a workout class. Yoga, CrossFit, Water Zumba, whatever fits your style!
Go ice skating. Lace up and hit the ice.
Take a hike. As in around the park or up a mountain. There are plenty of trails in city, county, state, and national parks within driving distance of just about everywhere.
Get a couple’s massage. Gives your muscles a break and relax together.
Head to the beach. Grab your wetsuits and boards for some cold-water surfing or stand up paddle boarding (SUP).
Play tourist. Take a tour of your own city; walk to museums, art galleries, and any of your town’s top highlights!
Go camping. Dust off your tent, grab your sleeping bags, and head outside for the night! Perk: They’ll probably be some great views and trails to check out.
Hit the slopes. Sled, ski, tube, snowboard, snowshoe, or anything that gets you into the mountains!
Think creatively this year when planning an active Valentine’s Day date. Make it fun, memorable, and unique. There’s nothing like relaxing on the couch and watching a movie together but to really make the day special, think outside the box.
